Geek Day Out 2000
Notes & Bolts 31 May 2000

Meeting convened on 31th May. Those present at this meeting
were the Andrews, both P&J, Campbell, Nicole and Katherine.
- It was decided that the Geek Party should be held in conjunction with the
Linux 2000 Convention. Therefore the dates for the Linux Expo and the PC shows
are needed.
The meeting decided that it would be necessary to show 'Super Chicken',
and something Gonzo.
Good places for the flyers could include Minotaur, McGill's, Technical
Bookshop, MSFC, Melbourne Anime Society, Comics Corner, Slow Glass.
Campbell was chosen as security liaison for the bash.
Fundraising and charitable doings including raffle for Nerf Wildfire.
T-shirt sales for fundraising.
Jolt to be added to the sponsorship list.
The meeting decided that Scienceworks should be asked about Cyrac.
Sign up for the party should be made via Geek Web for the name badges,
so Geek code can be added.
$450 will be needed for Eric Raymond. A donation of $125 already offered.
The question of insurance coverage for the party was considered. Asset tagging
of donated equipment could be necessary.
Eric Raymond event may be useful for publicity and fundraising.
The possibility of a mini-Geek gathering was discussed.
Chris was to be asked about the digital video mixer and Olaf for the harp.
Helen Newman at LUV is to be asked about the Linux Expo.

It was solemnly decided that someone in a chicken suit is a necessity.
Shirts for the organisers should be arranged.
A Linux Flyer will be designed in the first week of June.
