Logical inconsistencies

Ms. Mudd is not often my own voice in the strip. But I have always had the ability to spot people's logical inconsistencies. Including, I like to think, my own.

It's an important function for a mother to play, for a kid like Millie. She's smarter than a lot of the other kids, and Ozy's so detached that he never calls her on her inconsistencies in any way that demands her attention (though he clearly does see them).

I think having an authority figure who's her mental equal (indeed, who has such a similar personality) willing to say "you're full of it, kid" is essential for Millie.
