To my deep thinking friends,

If you haven't already seen the bootstrapping, open source, self replicating
3D printer Rep Rap, check out the video called "China on the desktop" at

Even as a metaphor, its disruptive -- What, you mean we can make our own
stuff without having to be super good at it? Including electronics? From open
shared
plans.... hmmm.... Its like virtual homesteading, but with the added element
of collaboration
...suggests whole new possibilities for post-corporate living.

Thanks for forwarding this - I personally have had the pleasure of
seeing RepRap demonstrated at conferences several times over the last
few years, and it seems to be progressing well.

Cheers,

Seems like the kind of thing you would have fun with at home!  If nothing
else...making cat toys :-).
