"Once again, this should raise serious questions about the problems of
copyright term length. It seems fairly obvious that at their current length,
copyright terms are actively suppressing a ridiculous amount of cultural
output, much of it likely to be lost forever to history — as by the time it
actually goes into the public domain, it may not even exist any more."

More on the "copyright hole", where the culture of the past fades away to
nothing and is rarely seen again.
