"There are many people who really don’t need extra frills and gadgets in their
car — they just want something simple and reliable to get to work or wherever
they are going. Why do cars have to be so expensive? Why do they need so much
extra geewizardry, which doesn’t add much or any value and just jacks up the
price?
Well, Chinese EV company Leapmotor is of that mindset as well, and found a way
to offer a little electric vehicle for just €4,900 — well, in Italy at least.
Apparently, it’s also selling quite well. “The Leapmotor T03 surged to fourth
place among European electric vehicle sales in February, driven by Italian
incentives that dropped the model’s price to as low as €4,900,”

It’s still not expensive elsewhere, of course — it’s just extra not expensive
and doing well in Italy. The price of a nice bicycle, the Leapmotor T03 is in
adventurous territory. How high can it go? How many vehicles can it sell? It’ll
be interesting to see how well the vehicle does in Europe this year."
