"Australian appliance and logistics business Winning Group is to deploy 30
electric trucks across its operations in Sydney and Melbourne thanks to a
partnership with fleet electrification specialist Zenobē and with the financial
backing of the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA).
The Winning Group is a fourth-generation Australian family-owned business with
its hands in a variety of pies including online appliances, home furnishings,
cabinetry, and fittings suppliers.
The service-based model struck with Zenobe allows businesses to get electric
trucks on the road without having to carry the full upfront cost of buying
vehicles and charging infrastructure.
Winning will deploy 10 Foton T5 (4.5-tonne) electric trucks at its Kemps Creek
distribution centre west of Sydney, which will leverage existing on-site
charging infrastructure.
A further 20 unspecified 8.5-tonne electric trucks will be deployed at
Winning’s custom-built distribution centre in Altona North, Victoria, alongside
new charging infrastructure which will be designed and built by Zenobē.
The partnership is backed by a $3.65 million investment from ARENA through the
Australian Government’s Driving the Nation Fund.
Harry Boileau, general manager of Winning Services, says the company is to be
able to move from “port to customer door with zero emissions, creating a fully
electrified delivery journey” from end to end.

we deliver into Australian homes. By working together across the entire supply
chain, we can reduce emissions, improve efficiency, and continue delivering on
our mission to create the best experiences in the world, for the world.”
Zenobē last year opened its first off-site electric truck charging hub in
Sydney late last year, which currently boasts Woolworths as the hub’s main
tenant, and also recently opened its doors to expressions of interest for its
$100 million truck electrification funding initiative from heavy vehicle fleet
operators across Australia."
